Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand Apify's Data Export Options
Begin by exploring Apify's capabilities to export data. Apify allows you to export data in various formats such as JSON, CSV, or XML. Determine the format that best suits your needs for later import into Convex.
Step 2: Set Up Apify Task for Data Extraction
Configure your Apify task to extract the required data. This involves setting up a crawler or automation script within Apify to collect the specific data you need. Ensure that the task is scheduled to run at the desired frequency and that it outputs data in the earlier chosen format.
Step 3: Download Data from Apify
Once your Apify task completes, download the exported data file. This can be done manually by logging into your Apify account, navigating to the dataset, and downloading the file. Alternatively, you can automate this step by using Apify's API to programmatically download the data.
Step 4: Prepare Data for Convex
Convert the downloaded data into a format compatible with Convex. If necessary, create a script or use a tool to transform the data structure from its current format (e.g., JSON) to one that Convex can process. Ensure that all necessary fields are present and correctly formatted.
Step 5: Set Up Convex Environment
Ensure that your Convex environment is ready to receive the data. This involves configuring your database schema to accommodate the incoming data fields and types. If needed, create new tables or collections that match the structure of your prepared data.
Step 6: Upload Data to Convex
Use Convex's API or command-line tools to upload the prepared data. Write a script or use a manual upload process to insert the data into your Convex database. Ensure that the data is correctly mapped to the corresponding tables or collections.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity
After uploading, perform a thorough check to verify that all data has been transferred correctly. Compare sample records between Apify and Convex to ensure accuracy. Additionally, run queries or checks within Convex to confirm that the data is complete and accessible as expected.
By following these steps, you can successfully transfer data from Apify to Convex without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
