Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Ashby
Begin by exporting the data from Ashby in a format that can be easily transferred, such as CSV, JSON, or Parquet. Navigate to Ashby's data export feature, select the datasets you need, and download them to your local machine. Ensure that the data is structured and includes all necessary fields for your analysis.
Step 2: Prepare the Data for Import
Before importing the data into Firebolt, clean and prepare it to ensure compatibility. Check for and handle any missing values, data type consistencies, and formatting issues. If necessary, use data processing tools or scripts to transform the data into the required format for Firebolt.
Step 3: Set Up a Firebolt Account
If you haven’t already, create an account on Firebolt and set up your environment. This includes creating a database and setting up the necessary tables where you will import your data. Familiarize yourself with Firebolt’s SQL syntax and data structure requirements.
Step 4: Create Tables in Firebolt
Using Firebolt’s SQL console, create tables that match the structure of your data. Define the schema with appropriate data types and constraints. This step is crucial to ensure the data imported from Ashby fits seamlessly into Firebolt’s architecture.
Step 5: Upload Data to Firebolt Storage
Transfer the prepared data files to a location accessible to Firebolt. Firebolt allows data imports from various storage options like Amazon S3 or local files. If using S3, upload the files to an S3 bucket. Make sure you have the necessary permissions and paths configured in Firebolt.
Step 6: Load Data into Firebolt
Use Firebolt’s SQL interface to load the data from the storage location into the tables you created. This involves writing SQL commands to import the data. For instance, use the `COPY INTO` command if loading from an S3 bucket, specifying the source file paths and target table.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity
After loading the data, validate the import by running queries to ensure the data is complete and accurately represented. Compare record counts, check for missing fields, and run test queries to confirm data integrity. This step ensures that the data from Ashby is fully operational in your Firebolt environment.
