How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Set Up Azure Storage Account Access
Start by ensuring you have access to your Azure Storage Account. You will need the account name and access key. These credentials are necessary to read data from your Azure Blob Storage. You can find these under the "Access keys" section of your storage account in the Azure portal.
Step 2: Download Data from Azure Blob Storage
Utilize Azure's SDK or REST API to download the data from Azure Blob Storage to a local environment. If using Python, the Azure Storage Blob library can be used. Install it via pip (`pip install azure-storage-blob`) and write a script to authenticate and download the blobs you need.
Step 3: Prepare Data for TiDB
Once the data is downloaded, transform it into a format that TiDB can ingest, typically CSV or SQL Dump. Ensure that the data types are compatible and that any necessary transformations (e.g., JSON to table rows) are handled. This step might involve using scripting languages like Python or shell scripting to manipulate the data.
Step 4: Install TiDB Client Tools
Download and install the TiDB client tools on your local environment. TiDB provides a command-line tool called `tidb` which can be used to interact with your TiDB instance. Ensure that you have network access to your TiDB server and the necessary credentials.
Step 5: Create TiDB Database and Tables

Once the data is loaded, run SQL queries to verify that the data in TiDB matches the source data. Check row counts and perform spot checks on the data content to ensure integrity and completeness. This step ensures the migration was successful and accurate.
