How to Sync to Manually
Begin by reviewing FastBill’s API documentation to understand how to retrieve data. Familiarize yourself with the authentication process, available endpoints, rate limits, and data formats. Typically, you will need an API token to authenticate your requests.
Use a programming language like Python to write a script that connects to FastBill’s API. Authenticate using your API token and perform GET requests to fetch the desired data. For example, you might retrieve customer details, invoices, or transactions. Store this data temporarily in a suitable format such as JSON or CSV.
Weaviate expects data in a specific format. Review Weaviate’s data schema requirements from their documentation. Convert the data fetched from FastBill into this format. This might involve structuring JSON objects to match Weaviate’s classes and properties.
Access your Weaviate instance and configure the schema to accommodate the data from FastBill. This involves creating necessary classes and properties in Weaviate to store the incoming data. You can use Weaviate’s RESTful API to set up the schema by sending POST requests with the schema configuration.
Obtain authentication credentials for Weaviate. This typically involves an API key or token. Write a script to connect to Weaviate’s API using these credentials. Ensure your script can successfully authenticate and connect to Weaviate.
With the data formatted and schema set up, use your script to send POST requests to Weaviate’s API to import the data. This involves iterating over your formatted data and creating objects in Weaviate for each data entry. Handle any errors or conflicts that may arise during the import process.
After importing data into Weaviate, perform verification to ensure the data has been transferred correctly. This can be done by querying Weaviate for a subset of the imported data and comparing it with the original data from FastBill. Check for completeness and accuracy, and resolve any discrepancies.
By following these steps, you can effectively transfer data from FastBill to Weaviate without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
