“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
First, familiarize yourself with FullStory's API and data export capabilities. FullStory provides a RESTful API that allows you to programmatically access session data, events, and user interactions. Read the FullStory API documentation to identify the endpoints that offer the data you need to transfer.
Register for an API key with FullStory. Log into your FullStory account, navigate to the API section, and generate an API key. This key will be used to authenticate your requests when accessing FullStory data programmatically.
Write a script in a language of your choice (such as Python, Node.js, or Ruby) to call the FullStory API endpoints. This script should handle authentication using your API key and be capable of paginating through large datasets if necessary. Parse the JSON responses to extract the relevant data fields.
Example in Python using `requests`:
```python
import requests
API_KEY = 'your_fullstory_api_key'
headers = {'Authorization': f'Basic {API_KEY}'}
response = requests.get('https://www.fullstory.com/api/v2/sessions', headers=headers)
data = response.json()
```
Once you have extracted the data, transform it into a format that is compatible with MongoDB. Since MongoDB stores data in BSON format, ensure that your data is structured as JSON documents. Consider normalizing and cleaning the data as needed to fit your MongoDB schema.
Set up a MongoDB instance where you will store the FullStory data. This can be a local installation or a cloud-based MongoDB service like MongoDB Atlas. Ensure you have the necessary permissions to insert data into your MongoDB database.
Extend your data extraction script to include functionality for inserting the transformed data into MongoDB. Use a MongoDB driver for your chosen programming language to connect to your database and insert documents.
Example in Python using `pymongo`:
```python
from pymongo import MongoClient
# Connect to MongoDB
client = MongoClient('mongodb://localhost:27017/')
db = client['your_database']
collection = db['your_collection']
# Insert data
collection.insert_many(data)
```
Set up a cron job or a similar scheduling tool to automate the data transfer process at regular intervals. Regularly monitor the data transfer to ensure that it is functioning correctly and handle any errors or API changes that might occur. Additionally, implement logging within your scripts to keep track of successful data transfers and any issues encountered.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from FullStory to MongoDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
