Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Harness
Start by exporting the data you need from Harness. Depending on your data type, this can typically be done through the Harness UI. Navigate to the relevant section (e.g., applications, pipelines) and look for an option to export data. Choose a format that is compatible with Weaviate, such as JSON or CSV.
Step 2: Set Up Your Local Environment for Data Transformation
Prepare your local environment for data processing. Install necessary tools like Python or any other scripting language you are comfortable with. Ensure you have libraries for data manipulation, such as Pandas for Python, to aid in transforming your data into a format suitable for Weaviate.
Step 3: Transform Data Format
Use your scripting environment to transform the exported Harness data into a JSON-LD format, which is compatible with Weaviate. Write a script that reads the exported file, processes each entry, and converts it into JSON-LD. Pay attention to the schema structure and ensure that each entry contains all necessary fields for Weaviate.
Step 4: Define Weaviate Schema
Before importing data, define the schema in Weaviate to match the structure of your JSON-LD data. Access the Weaviate console or API to create classes and properties that reflect the data types and relationships. Ensure the schema accommodates the data you are importing from Harness.
Step 5: Set Up Weaviate Instance
Deploy a Weaviate instance if you haven't already. This can be done locally using Docker or on a cloud service. Follow the Weaviate documentation to set up and configure your instance, ensuring it is ready to receive new data.
Step 6: Load Data into Weaviate
With your Weaviate instance running, use the Weaviate RESTful API to upload your JSON-LD data. Write a script or use a command-line tool like `curl` to send HTTP POST requests to the Weaviate API, targeting the appropriate endpoint to insert your data. Validate each upload to ensure data integrity.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Structure in Weaviate
After loading the data, verify that it has been correctly inserted into Weaviate. Use the Weaviate console or API to query the data and ensure it matches the intended schema. Check for any anomalies or missing data and rectify them by re-uploading or adjusting the schema as necessary.
By following these steps, you can successfully transfer data from Harness to Weaviate without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
