How to load data from Intruder to S3 Glue

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your Intruder data into S3 Glue within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a Intruder connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up S3 Glue for your extracted Intruder data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the Intruder to S3 Glue in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

What sets Airbyte Apart

Modern GenAI Workflows

Streamline AI workflows with Airbyte: load unstructured data into vector stores like Pinecone, Weaviate, and Milvus. Supports RAG transformations with LangChain chunking and embeddings from OpenAI, Cohere, etc., all in one operation.

Move Large Volumes, Fast

Quickly get up and running with a 5-minute setup that enables both incremental and full refreshes for databases of any size, seamlessly scaling to handle large data volumes. Our optimized architecture overcomes performance bottlenecks, ensuring efficient data synchronization even as your datasets grow from gigabytes to petabytes.

An Extensible Open-Source Standard

More than 1,000 developers contribute to Airbyte’s connectors, different interfaces (UI, API, Terraform Provider, Python Library), and integrations with the rest of the stack. Airbyte’s AI Connector Builder lets you edit or add new connectors in minutes.

Full Control & Security

Airbyte secures your data with cloud-hosted, self-hosted or hybrid deployment options. Single Sign-On (SSO) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) ensure only authorized users have access with the right permissions. Airbyte acts as a HIPAA conduit and supports compliance with CCPA, GDPR, and SOC2.

Fully Featured & Integrated

Airbyte automates schema evolution for seamless data flow, and utilizes efficient Change Data Capture (CDC) for real-time updates. Select only the columns you need, and leverage our dbt integration for powerful data transformations.

Enterprise Support with SLAs

Airbyte Self-Managed Enterprise comes with dedicated support and guaranteed service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring that your data movement infrastructure remains reliable and performant, and expert assistance is available when needed.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Understand the Data Source

First, assess the intruder system's data format and export capabilities. Ensure you can extract the data in a common format, such as CSV, JSON, or XML, that AWS services can process. Determine whether the system allows for manual or automated exports and if it supports scheduled exports.

Step 2: Export Data from Intruder System

Use the intruder system's native functionalities to export the data. This could involve running a report or using built-in export tools. Choose a suitable format (like CSV or JSON) that is compatible with AWS S3. Save the exported data to a secure location within your local network.

Step 3: Secure Transfer to Local Machine or Server

If the data is exported to a different system or location, ensure it is securely transferred to a local machine or server that has access to the AWS environment. Use secure protocols like SCP (Secure Copy Protocol) or SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) to protect data during this transfer.

Step 4: Install and Configure AWS CLI

Install the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) on your local machine or server where the data resides. Configure the AWS CLI with your credentials using the command `aws configure`, providing your AWS Access Key, Secret Access Key, region, and output format. Ensure the IAM user has permissions to access S3 and AWS Glue.

Step 5: Transfer Data to S3 Bucket

Use the AWS CLI to upload the data file to an S3 bucket. Execute a command like `aws s3 cp /path/to/your/datafile.csv s3://your-bucket-name/your-folder-name/` to transfer the file. Make sure the S3 bucket is in the correct region and you have the necessary permissions to write to it.

Step 6: Set Up AWS Glue Crawler

In the AWS Management Console, navigate to AWS Glue and set up a new crawler. Define the S3 location where the data was uploaded as the data source. Configure the crawler to infer the schema and create metadata tables in the AWS Glue Data Catalog.

Step 7: Run the AWS Glue Crawler and Validate

Execute the AWS Glue crawler to populate the Glue Data Catalog with the schema of your dataset. Once the crawler has run, validate the metadata tables to ensure they accurately represent the data structure. You can then use AWS Glue jobs or Amazon Athena to query and process the data further as needed.

This guide should help you securely and efficiently move data from an intruder system to AWS S3 and AWS Glue without relying on third-party connectors.
