How to load data from Lever Hiring to DynamoDB

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your Lever Hiring data into DynamoDB within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a Lever Hiring connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up DynamoDB for your extracted Lever Hiring data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the Lever Hiring to DynamoDB in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Export Data from Lever Hiring

Begin by logging into your Lever Hiring account. Navigate to the reports or data export section, where you can export the required data. Lever allows you to export data into CSV or Excel formats. Choose the necessary fields and ensure that you have all the relevant data needed for migration.

Step 2: Prepare the Data for Import

Once the data is exported, inspect the files to ensure they meet your requirements and are in good condition. Clean the data if necessary, removing any duplicates or irrelevant information. Convert and structure the data according to the format that DynamoDB accepts, ensuring the data types match expected values.

Step 3: Set Up AWS DynamoDB Table

Log into your AWS Management Console and navigate to the DynamoDB service. Create a new table, setting the primary key (partition key and optionally a sort key) based on how you plan to query the data. Configure the provisioned capacity or set it to on-demand, depending on your expected workload.

Step 4: Prepare AWS CLI for Data Upload

Ensure you have the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) installed and configured on your system. You can download it from the official AWS website if needed. Use `aws configure` to set up your AWS credentials and default region. This setup is necessary to upload data to DynamoDB.

Step 5: Convert CSV/Excel to JSON

Use a script or a tool to convert your CSV or Excel data into JSON format, as DynamoDB accepts JSON data. You can write a Python script using libraries like Pandas, or use any other programming language you're comfortable with. Make sure to match the JSON structure with the attributes defined in your DynamoDB table.

Step 6: Batch Upload Data to DynamoDB

Use the AWS CLI or a script to batch upload data to your DynamoDB table. The `batch-write-item` command is suitable for uploading multiple items at once. If using a script, ensure it reads from the JSON file and uploads in chunks, as DynamoDB has limitations on batch write sizes.

Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Consistency

After uploading, it’s crucial to verify the data integrity and consistency. Use the AWS Management Console or CLI to query the DynamoDB table and compare the data with your source to ensure everything has been imported correctly. Address any discrepancies by re-uploading or adjusting the data as necessary.

Following these steps will help you move data from Lever Hiring to DynamoDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
