How to load data from Monday to Firebolt

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your Monday data into Firebolt within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a Monday connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up Firebolt for your extracted Monday data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the Monday to Firebolt in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Export Data from Monday.com

Start by exporting your data from Monday.com. Navigate to the board you wish to export, click on the three-dot menu at the top-right, and select "Export to Excel." This will download your board's data in an Excel spreadsheet format, which you can later convert to a CSV file.

Step 2: Convert Excel to CSV Format

Open the downloaded Excel file and save it as a CSV file. Use Excel or any other spreadsheet program to open the file, then choose "Save As" and select "CSV (Comma delimited)" as the file format. This step ensures compatibility with Firebolt, which can easily ingest CSV files.

Step 3: Prepare CSV for Firebolt Ingestion

Clean and format your CSV file to match the schema requirements of Firebolt. Ensure that the data types and column headers in your CSV align with the table definitions you plan to use in Firebolt. Remove any unwanted columns or data entries during this step.

Step 4: Set Up a Firebolt Account and Database

If you haven't already, create a Firebolt account and set up a new database. In Firebolt's console, create a new database where your data from Monday.com will reside. This setup is crucial for organizing and managing your imported data effectively.

Step 5: Create a Table in Firebolt

Define the schema for the data table in Firebolt that will store your Monday.com data. Use the Firebolt SQL editor to create a table with columns that correspond to your CSV file. Ensure that data types match the expected input from your CSV file to avoid errors during data loading.

Step 6: Upload CSV File to Firebolt

Use the Firebolt console to upload your CSV file. Navigate to the "Load Data" section, and follow the instructions to upload your CSV file directly to your Firebolt database. You may need to configure the CSV file settings, such as delimiter and header row, to ensure correct data parsing.

Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Validate Import

Once the data is loaded, run SQL queries within the Firebolt console to verify that the data has been imported correctly. Check for any discrepancies in data types, missing fields, or errors in data that might have occurred during the upload process. Confirm that the data matches your original dataset from Monday.com.

By following these steps, you can manually transfer data from Monday.com to Firebolt without the use of third-party tools or integrations.
