"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Begin by identifying the data you want to move from n8n. This could be from a webhook, an API call, or another workflow node. Make sure you have access to the data structure and understand the fields and types of data you will be handling.
Before moving data, ensure you have a Firebolt database and the necessary tables set up. Use Firebolt's SQL interface to create a table that matches the structure of your data in n8n. This step is crucial for ensuring data compatibility and integrity during the transfer process.
Use an n8n workflow to export the data. This could be done using a Function node to format the data into a CSV or JSON file. Store this file in a location accessible by your local system, such as a temporary directory on your n8n server.
Download and install the Firebolt Command Line Interface (CLI) on the machine where n8n is running. The Firebolt CLI will be used to upload your data files directly into the Firebolt database.
Ensure that the exported data from n8n is in a format that Firebolt can ingest. Typically, Firebolt supports CSV, JSON, and Parquet file formats. Use scripting (e.g., Python or Bash) if necessary to reformat the data into a compatible format.
Use the Firebolt CLI to upload the data file to your Firebolt database. This involves running a command from your terminal or command prompt. Example command:
```
firebolt upload --database= --table= --file=
```
Ensure you replace the placeholders with your actual database name, table name, and file path.
After uploading, verify that the data has been successfully transferred to Firebolt. You can do this by querying the table in Firebolt and checking the row count and data integrity. This step ensures that the data is accurately reflected and ready for use in Firebolt.
By following these steps, you can manually move data from n8n to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
