How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Understand Paystack's API

Begin by familiarizing yourself with Paystack's API documentation. Paystack provides RESTful APIs that allow you to access and export transaction data directly. Ensure you have access credentials (API key) and understand the endpoints relevant to the data you wish to export.

Create a script in your preferred programming language (such as Python) to interact with Paystack's API. Use HTTP requests to fetch the desired data. The script should handle authentication using your API key, and it should be capable of traversing pagination if the data is spread across multiple pages.

Once the data is fetched from Paystack, it might need formatting to match Firebolt's requirements. Convert the data into a CSV or Parquet file, which are both supported by Firebolt for data ingestion. Ensure that the data types and schema align with what you plan to have in your Firebolt database.

If you haven't done so already, log into your Firebolt account and create a new database and table to accommodate the incoming data. Define the schema based on the structure of the data you have exported from Paystack, ensuring compatibility with the data types.

Firebolt allows data ingestion from cloud storage services like Amazon S3. Upload your formatted data files (CSV or Parquet) to an S3 bucket. Ensure that the bucket permissions allow Firebolt to access the data.

Access your Firebolt database, and use the COPY command to load data from your S3 bucket into Firebolt. This command should specify the source file location, data format, and target table. Adjust any options related to data parsing to match the format used in your files.

After loading the data, perform checks to ensure data integrity and completeness. Query your Firebolt table to verify that the data matches the source data from Paystack, checking for any discrepancies or missing records. Adjust your import process as necessary to address any issues.

By following these steps, you can manually move data from Paystack to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
