How to load data from Postmark App to Weaviate

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your Postmark App data into Weaviate within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines
Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.
After Airbyte
Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a Postmark App connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up Weaviate for your extracted Postmark App data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the Postmark App to Weaviate in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Understand Postmark's API

Begin by familiarizing yourself with Postmark's API documentation. This will help you understand how to authenticate and retrieve the data you need. Postmark provides a RESTful API that allows you to access email data, such as sent messages, bounces, and more. Note the endpoints and the type of data you can extract.

Set up authentication to access the Postmark API. Typically, this involves generating an API token from the Postmark dashboard. Ensure you handle this token securely in your code, as it will be used to authenticate all requests to the Postmark API.

Write a script or use a command-line tool to send HTTP GET requests to the Postmark API endpoints. Use the API token for authentication in the request headers. Parse the JSON responses to extract the data you need, such as email content, metadata, or event details. Store this data in a structured format like JSON or CSV for easier processing.

Familiarize yourself with Weaviate's API documentation. Understand how to authenticate and the structure of data objects in Weaviate. Weaviate is a vector search engine that requires data to be stored in a specific object format, often with a schema defining the types and classes of data.

Transform the data retrieved from Postmark into a format compatible with Weaviate’s data schema. This may involve defining a schema in Weaviate that corresponds to the structure of your Postmark data. Consider what fields are necessary and how they map to Weaviate's objects and properties.

Configure authentication to access the Weaviate API. This might involve setting up API keys or using another form of authentication provided by your Weaviate instance. Ensure your script or application can securely connect to Weaviate using these credentials.

Write a script or use HTTP tools to send POST requests to the Weaviate API to insert your transformed data. Ensure each data object conforms to the Weaviate schema you defined. Use batch operations if possible to efficiently transfer large volumes of data. Monitor the responses for errors and handle any exceptions to ensure data integrity during the transfer process.

By following these steps, you can move data from Postmark to Weaviate directly, leveraging each platform's API capabilities without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
