"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from PrestaShop
Begin by accessing your PrestaShop back office. Navigate to the "Advanced Parameters" section and select "Database" to access your database management system. Use the export functionality to download essential data tables like products, customers, and orders in CSV format. Ensure that the data is complete and accurately reflects your store's current state.
Step 2: Prepare CSV Files for Import
Review the exported CSV files and clean the data where necessary. This includes removing any unwanted columns, ensuring consistent data formatting, and checking for errors or missing information. It is essential to standardize the data to match the requirements of Convex.
Step 3: Access Convex Database
Log in to your Convex database management system. Familiarize yourself with the database schema to understand how data is structured. Identify the tables where the PrestaShop data will be imported, such as the equivalent tables for products, customers, and orders.
Step 4: Map PrestaShop Data to Convex Schema
Create a mapping plan to align PrestaShop data fields with Convex's database schema. This involves identifying equivalent fields and determining any necessary transformations, such as converting data types or reformatting fields to match the Convex structure.
Step 5: Script Data Transformation
Write scripts or use command-line tools to transform the CSV data according to the mapping plan. This step may involve using languages like Python or SQL to perform data transformations, ensuring that each field in the PrestaShop data is accurately represented in the Convex format.
Step 6: Import Data into Convex
Use SQL commands or database import tools to load the transformed data into Convex. Execute the import process table by table, ensuring that each operation is successful. Monitor for any errors and validate that data is correctly inserted into the appropriate tables.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity
After the import, conduct a thorough data integrity check. Compare sample records from PrestaShop and Convex to confirm the accuracy of the data transfer. Ensure that all data is complete, correctly formatted, and available for use within the Convex system, making note of any discrepancies for further troubleshooting.
By following these steps, you can effectively transfer data from PrestaShop to Convex manually, ensuring a seamless transition without relying on third-party tools.
