How to load data from PrestaShop to Snowflake destination

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your PrestaShop data into Snowflake destination within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines
Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.
After Airbyte
Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a PrestaShop connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up Snowflake destination for your extracted PrestaShop data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the PrestaShop to Snowflake destination in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Export Data from PrestaShop

First, you need to export the desired data from PrestaShop. Log into your PrestaShop admin panel, navigate to the data you wish to export (e.g., products, orders), and use PrestaShop's built-in export feature. Typically, PrestaShop allows exporting data to CSV format, which is ideal for loading into Snowflake.

Once you have your CSV files, review them to ensure data is correctly formatted. Check for any inconsistencies or errors that might have occurred during the export process. Ensure that the CSV files have headers that accurately describe the data within each column, which will be important for the data load into Snowflake.

If not done already, set up your Snowflake account and create a virtual warehouse. This involves logging into your Snowflake console, navigating to the "Warehouses" tab, and creating a new warehouse. Ensure the warehouse size and configuration match your processing needs.

Before loading data, you must define the table structure in Snowflake. Use the Snowflake console or SQL editor to create tables that match the structure of your CSV files. For example:
```sql
CREATE TABLE products (
product_id INT,
product_name STRING,
price FLOAT,
quantity INT
);
```
Adjust the data types and columns based on your specific data.

Use the Snowflake web interface or SnowSQL command-line tool to upload your CSV files to a Snowflake stage. This is a temporary storage location in Snowflake that allows you to load data into tables. For example, using SnowSQL:
```shell
PUT file://path/to/your/products.csv @~;
```

Once your CSV files are staged, use the `COPY INTO` command to load the data into your Snowflake tables. This step moves your data from the stage to the table:
```sql
COPY INTO products
FROM @~/products.csv
FILE_FORMAT = (TYPE = 'CSV' FIELD_OPTIONALLY_ENCLOSED_BY = '"' SKIP_HEADER = 1);
```
Adjust the `FILE_FORMAT` options as necessary to match the specifics of your CSV files.

After loading your data into Snowflake, run some queries to verify data integrity and quality. Check row counts, perform sample queries, and ensure all data has been loaded as expected. This step ensures that the migration was successful and that your Snowflake instance accurately reflects the data exported from PrestaShop.

By following these steps, you can effectively move your data from PrestaShop to Snowflake Data Cloud without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
