Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Qualaroo
Begin by logging into your Qualaroo account. Navigate to the survey or data set you wish to export. Use the export functionality within Qualaroo to download the data, typically in a CSV or Excel format. This file will serve as the intermediary between Qualaroo and MongoDB.
Step 2: Prepare the Data for MongoDB
Open the exported file using a spreadsheet application or a text editor. Review the data to ensure it is clean and structured appropriately for MongoDB. This might involve removing unnecessary columns, renaming fields to fit MongoDB’s conventions (e.g., using camelCase), and ensuring data types are consistent.
Step 3: Install MongoDB and Command Line Tools
Ensure MongoDB is installed on your system. Additionally, install the MongoDB Database Tools if they are not already available. These tools include `mongoimport`, which will be crucial for importing CSV or JSON files into your MongoDB database.
Step 4: Convert CSV to JSON Format
If your data is currently in CSV format, convert it to JSON. This can be done using various scripts or tools. For instance, you can write a Python script using pandas to read the CSV and then convert it to JSON format. Ensure the JSON structure aligns with how you want your data to be organized in MongoDB.
Step 5: Create a MongoDB Database and Collection
Open your MongoDB shell or connect to your MongoDB instance using a GUI tool like MongoDB Compass. Create a new database or select an existing one where you want to store the Qualaroo data. Within this database, create a new collection that will hold your data.
Step 6: Import JSON Data into MongoDB
Use the `mongoimport` tool to import the JSON file into your MongoDB collection. The command typically looks like this:
```bash
mongoimport --db yourDatabaseName --collection yourCollectionName --file yourDataFile.json --jsonArray
```
Ensure you replace placeholders with your actual database name, collection name, and JSON file path.
Step 7: Verify the Data Import
Once the data import is complete, verify its accuracy by querying the MongoDB collection. Use appropriate MongoDB queries to check the data structure, count the number of documents, and ensure that all fields have been imported correctly. This step is crucial to confirm the success of the data transfer and make any necessary corrections.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from Qualaroo to MongoDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
