“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Access Recharge API
To begin, you need to access the Recharge API to extract the necessary data. First, create an API key in your Recharge admin panel. Then, use this key to authenticate API requests. You can use tools like cURL or Postman to interact with the API and retrieve data such as customer details, subscriptions, and transactions.
Step 2: Extract Data from Recharge
Once authenticated, extract the data you need by making API calls to the appropriate Recharge endpoints. For example, you might use endpoints like `/customers`, `/subscriptions`, and `/charges`. Store the JSON response data in a local file or database for further processing. Ensure you paginate through the data if there are large volumes.
Step 3: Transform Data for Elasticsearch
The data extracted from Recharge needs to be transformed into a format compatible with Elasticsearch. This typically involves converting JSON data into a structure Elasticsearch can index. Clean the data by removing unnecessary fields and renaming keys to align with your Elasticsearch schema.
Step 4: Set Up Elasticsearch Index
Before loading data, set up an index in Elasticsearch to store the data. Define an index mapping that corresponds to the structure of your transformed data. Specify data types for each field (e.g., text, keyword, date) to optimize search capabilities.
Step 5: Load Data into Elasticsearch
Use Elasticsearch's Bulk API to efficiently load the transformed data. Prepare a bulk request by formatting your data into a series of action and source lines. The action line specifies the index and type, while the source line contains the document data. Execute the bulk operation using a script or command-line tool like cURL.
Step 6: Verify Data Integrity
After loading the data, verify its integrity by querying the Elasticsearch index. Perform searches to check that documents are indexed correctly and fields are searchable. Compare a sample of data entries between Recharge and Elasticsearch to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Step 7: Automate the ETL Process
To maintain data consistency, automate the ETL process. Write a script using a programming language like Python to periodically extract, transform, and load data from Recharge to Elasticsearch. Use task scheduling tools like cron (for Unix-based systems) or Task Scheduler (for Windows) to run the script at regular intervals.
By following these steps, you can manually move data from Recharge to Elasticsearch, ensuring that your search and analytics capabilities are up-to-date without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
