“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Extract Data from Snapchat Marketing API
Begin by accessing the Snapchat Marketing API to extract the necessary data. You need to set up an account with developer access to obtain the API key. Use programming languages like Python to make API requests and download data in a structured format such as JSON or CSV.
Step 2: Prepare the Extracted Data
Once the data is extracted, you'll need to parse and clean it. Use Python libraries such as Pandas to handle data transformation tasks like filtering, aggregation, and reformatting to ensure the data is structured correctly for Redshift.
Step 3: Convert Data to a Loadable Format
After cleaning, convert the data into a format that Redshift can easily ingest. Typically, this involves converting JSON to CSV since Redshift COPY command efficiently handles CSV files. Ensure data types are compatible with your Redshift table schema.
Step 4: Set Up AWS S3 Bucket
Create an S3 bucket where you will temporarily store your data files. The AWS Management Console allows you to easily create a bucket, but remember to configure the right permissions to allow Redshift to access it.
Step 5: Upload Data to S3
Use AWS CLI or SDKs to upload your CSV files to the S3 bucket. Ensure the files are accurately placed in the correct directory structure if your Redshift COPY command includes path specifications.
Step 6: Configure Amazon Redshift Cluster
Before loading data, ensure your Redshift cluster is set up and accessible. Configure security settings, such as VPC and IAM roles, to allow your Redshift cluster to access the S3 bucket. Validate that your target table schema matches the data structure.
Step 7: Load Data into Amazon Redshift
Use the Redshift `COPY` command to load data from S3 into Redshift. The command will look something like this:
```sql
COPY your_table_name
FROM 's3://your-bucket-name/your-file-path'
IAM_ROLE 'your-iam-role'
FORMAT AS CSV
IGNOREHEADER 1;
```
Execute this SQL command from your SQL client or Redshift query editor to ingest data into Redshift. Verify data integrity by querying the loaded table.
By following these steps, you can successfully transfer data from Snapchat Marketing to Amazon Redshift without relying on third-party integrations.
