“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Familiarize yourself with the SonarCloud REST API documentation. SonarCloud provides a set of RESTful web services to access project data. Determine the endpoints necessary to extract the specific data you need, such as project metrics, issues, or any other relevant information.
Ensure you have an AWS account set up with the necessary permissions to create and access DynamoDB resources. Use the AWS Management Console or the AWS CLI to create a new DynamoDB table where you will store the data from SonarCloud. Define the table's primary key schema according to the data structure you plan to store.
Write a script in a programming language of your choice (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to interact with the SonarCloud API. Use HTTP requests to authenticate and fetch data from the desired endpoints. Parse the JSON responses to extract the data fields you are interested in.
Once you have extracted the data, transform it to match the schema and data types of your DynamoDB table. This might involve restructuring the JSON data or converting data types to ensure compatibility with DynamoDB's attribute data types (e.g., strings, numbers, lists, maps).
Import and configure the AWS SDK for the programming language you are using. This will allow your script to communicate with AWS services, including DynamoDB. Ensure that your AWS credentials are securely managed and that the SDK is configured to use them.
Use the configured AWS SDK to write the transformed data to your DynamoDB table. Implement error handling to manage possible write failures, such as exceeding write capacity or encountering validation errors. Ensure data is inserted correctly by verifying a few entries in the DynamoDB console.
To keep your DynamoDB data up-to-date with SonarCloud, schedule the script to run at regular intervals. You can use cron jobs on a Unix-based system or Task Scheduler on Windows. Alternatively, consider using AWS Lambda with a CloudWatch Events trigger for a serverless approach to automate the data transfer process.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from SonarCloud to DynamoDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
