Move Large Volumes, Fast
Quickly get up and running with a 5-minute setup that enables both incremental and full refreshes for databases of any size, seamlessly scaling to handle large data volumes. Our optimized architecture overcomes performance bottlenecks, ensuring efficient data synchronization even as your datasets grow from gigabytes to petabytes.
An Extensible Open-Source Standard
More than 1,000 developers contribute to Airbyte’s connectors, different interfaces (UI, API, Terraform Provider, Python Library), and integrations with the rest of the stack. Airbyte’s AI Connector Builder lets you edit or add new connectors in minutes.
Full Control & Security
Airbyte secures your data with cloud-hosted, self-hosted or hybrid deployment options. Single Sign-On (SSO) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) ensure only authorized users have access with the right permissions. Airbyte acts as a HIPAA conduit and supports compliance with CCPA, GDPR, and SOC2.
Fully Featured & Integrated
Airbyte automates schema evolution for seamless data flow, and utilizes efficient Change Data Capture (CDC) for real-time updates. Select only the columns you need, and leverage our dbt integration for powerful data transformations.
Enterprise Support with SLAs
Airbyte Self-Managed Enterprise comes with dedicated support and guaranteed service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring that your data movement infrastructure remains reliable and performant, and expert assistance is available when needed.
What our users say

Raman Singh
Predictable, straightforward pricing model that simplified budgeting and significantly reduced overall spend

Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand the SpaceX API
Begin by familiarizing yourself with the SpaceX API documentation. Identify the endpoints that contain the data you need. Test these endpoints using tools like Postman or cURL to ensure you can retrieve the necessary data. Note down the request methods (GET, POST) and parameters required.
Step 2: Set Up Your Development Environment
Choose a programming language with robust HTTP and database support, such as Python. Install necessary libraries for HTTP requests (e.g., `requests` for Python) and Teradata database interaction (e.g., `teradatasql` for Python). Ensure your environment is properly configured and can access the internet to reach the SpaceX API.
Step 3: Retrieve Data from SpaceX API
Write a script to make HTTP requests to the SpaceX API endpoints you identified. Use the `requests` library in Python to perform GET requests to the API. Parse the JSON response and extract the data you need. Handle errors and exceptions to ensure the script can gracefully retry or log failures.
Step 4: Transform the Data if Necessary
Once you have retrieved the data, you may need to transform or clean it to match the schema of your Teradata database. Use data manipulation libraries like `pandas` in Python to convert JSON data into a structured format like DataFrame, and perform necessary transformations like renaming columns, changing data types, or filtering unnecessary fields.
Step 5: Establish Connection to Teradata Database
Use the Teradata SQL Driver (`teradatasql`) to establish a connection to your Teradata database. Ensure that you have the necessary credentials and permissions to write data to the database. Test the connection by performing simple queries to verify that the connection is successful.
Step 6: Load Data into Teradata
Write a script to insert the transformed data into your Teradata database. Use SQL INSERT or COPY commands to load the data from your structured format into the appropriate tables. Ensure to handle transactions properly, commit after successful inserts, or rollback in case of errors.
Step 7: Automate and Schedule the Process
To keep your Teradata database updated with the latest data, automate the data retrieval and loading process. Use cron jobs on UNIX systems or Task Scheduler on Windows to run your script at regular intervals. Ensure logging and error handling are in place to monitor the process and make adjustments as necessary.
This guide provides a simple, direct method to transfer data from the SpaceX API to Teradata, leveraging manual coding and database interaction without external integration tools.
