Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Set Up a Stripe API Key
Begin by logging into your Stripe account. Navigate to the API section in the Stripe dashboard to generate a new API key if necessary. This key will be used to authenticate your requests to the Stripe API, enabling you to access the data you need to export.
Step 2: Identify Data to Export
Determine the specific data you need to move from Stripe to TiDB. This could include transactions, customer data, or invoices. Review the Stripe API documentation to understand the available endpoints and the structure of the data you wish to export.
Step 3: Write a Script to Fetch Data from Stripe
Create a script using your preferred programming language (such as Python, Node.js, or Ruby) to interact with the Stripe API. Use the API key to authenticate requests and call the necessary endpoints to fetch the required data. Make sure to handle pagination if the data set is large.
Step 4: Process and Format Data for TiDB
Once the data is fetched, process and transform it into a format suitable for insertion into TiDB. Ensure that data types align with those in your TiDB schema. You may need to convert timestamps, format strings, or handle nested objects to match your database schema.
Step 5: Set Up TiDB Environment
Ensure that your TiDB environment is up and running. You should have access credentials ready and ensure that your database schema is prepared to receive the data. If necessary, create the appropriate tables to match the structure of the data you are importing.
Step 6: Write a Script to Insert Data into TiDB
Develop a script that will insert the processed data into TiDB. Use a database client or library compatible with TiDB, such as the MySQL client, since TiDB is MySQL compatible. Insert the data in batches to optimize performance and ensure data integrity.
Step 7: Validate and Verify Data Transfer
After the data has been inserted into TiDB, perform checks to validate that the transfer was successful. Compare sample records between Stripe and TiDB to ensure accuracy. Additionally, check for any anomalies or errors during the transfer process and rectify them as needed.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from Stripe to TiDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations, ensuring a smooth and secure data migration process.
