How to Sync to Manually
First, familiarize yourself with the data structure of Timely. Identify the tables, fields, and data types used. This helps in planning how the data will map to TiDB. Export a sample dataset from Timely to ensure you know the format and schema.
Use the built-in export functionality in Timely to extract your data. Typically, this can be done via a CSV export. Make sure to export all necessary tables and data that you wish to transfer to TiDB.
Once exported, prepare the CSV files for TiDB import. Check for any inconsistencies or errors in the data, such as incorrect data types or missing values. Clean and format the data as needed to match the schema you will use in TiDB.
Ensure that TiDB is installed and running. Set up your database structure in TiDB to match the data you are importing. This includes creating databases and tables with the appropriate schema to accommodate the data coming from Timely.
Use TiDB's native import tools to load data from the CSV files into your database. You can use the `LOAD DATA` statement in TiDB, which reads rows from a text file into a table at a very high speed. Ensure that the file paths and table names are correctly specified.
After importing the data, verify its integrity by running queries to check that the data in TiDB matches what was exported from Timely. Compare record counts, check for any discrepancies, and ensure that the data types are correctly mapped.
Once the data is verified, optimize your TiDB tables for performance. Add indexes to columns frequently used in queries to speed up data retrieval. Consider partitioning large tables if necessary to improve query performance and manageability.
By following these steps, you can successfully move data from Timely to TiDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
