“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Vitally
Begin by exporting the data you need from Vitally. Log into your Vitally account and navigate to the section containing the data you wish to export. Use the built-in export features to download the data in a format that can be easily manipulated, such as CSV or JSON.
Step 2: Prepare Your Data for Import
Once the data is exported, inspect the file to ensure it is clean and structured correctly. If needed, use a text editor or a spreadsheet application to format the data to match the schema of your PostgreSQL destination. This may involve renaming columns, changing data types, or removing unnecessary data.
Step 3: Set Up Your PostgreSQL Environment
Ensure that your PostgreSQL server is up and running. You need to have access to the database where you want to import the data. Use a PostgreSQL client like `psql` or a GUI tool like pgAdmin to connect to your database. Create a table structure that matches the data you are importing if it does not already exist.
Step 4: Convert Data Format to SQL Inserts
Convert your prepared data into SQL `INSERT` statements. This can be done manually for smaller datasets or by writing a script in a language like Python, Ruby, or Bash to automate the conversion. The SQL statements should insert the data into the appropriate table in your PostgreSQL database.
Step 5: Transfer Data to PostgreSQL
With your SQL `INSERT` statements ready, transfer the data into your PostgreSQL database. You can execute the SQL commands directly in a PostgreSQL client tool. For large datasets, consider using the `COPY` command in PostgreSQL, as it is optimized for bulk data insertion from a file.
Step 6: Verify Data Integrity
After the data insertion completes, verify that the data has been transferred correctly. Perform checks by querying the PostgreSQL database and comparing the results with the original data from Vitally. Look for discrepancies in the record count, data accuracy, and data types.
Step 7: Automate the Process for Future Imports
If you need to perform this data transfer regularly, automate the process by creating a script. Use a programming language like Python or Bash to automate data export, conversion, and import tasks. Schedule the script using a task scheduler like Cron (for Unix-based systems) to run at specified intervals.
By following these steps, you can efficiently move data from Vitally to a PostgreSQL destination without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
