How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Wrike
Start by logging into your Wrike account. Navigate to the project or folder you want to export data from. Use Wrike's export feature to download the data in a CSV or Excel format. This is typically done by selecting the tasks or projects and choosing the export option from the menu.
Step 2: Prepare the Data for Import
Open the exported CSV or Excel file and review the data. Clean up any unnecessary columns and ensure that all data is formatted correctly. For Weaviate, you may need to standardize the data structure to match the schema you intend to use. This might involve converting dates to a consistent format or ensuring text fields are properly encoded.
Step 3: Define Weaviate Schema Classes
Access your Weaviate instance and define the schema classes that will match the data structure from Wrike. This involves setting up classes and properties in Weaviate that correspond to the columns in your CSV/Excel file. Use the Weaviate Console or API to create these schemas. Ensure that data types are correctly set (e.g., string, integer, date).
Step 4: Convert CSV/Excel Data to JSON Format
Convert the cleaned CSV/Excel data into JSON format, as Weaviate uses JSON for data import. You can use a script in Python or another language to automate this conversion. Each row in your CSV/Excel should be converted into a JSON object, with keys matching the property names in your Weaviate schema.
Step 5: Authenticate with Weaviate API
Authenticate with your Weaviate instance using an API key or other authentication method provided by your Weaviate setup. This step ensures you have the necessary permissions to import data. You might use tools like Postman or a script to handle this authentication.
Step 6: Import Data into Weaviate
Use the Weaviate API to import your JSON-formatted data. This typically involves sending POST requests to the `/objects` endpoint of your Weaviate instance. You can write a script to iterate over each JSON object and make the necessary API calls to import the data. Monitor for any API errors and adjust your data format as necessary.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity
After importing the data, perform checks to ensure that all data has been accurately transferred. Use the Weaviate Console or API to query the imported data and verify that it matches the original data from Wrike. Check for any discrepancies and resolve them by re-importing specific data points if necessary.
Following these steps will enable you to transfer data from Wrike to Weaviate without relying on third-party connectors or integrations, ensuring a smooth and controlled data migration process.
