How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Xero
Begin by logging into your Xero account. Navigate to the data or reports you wish to export. Use the export function within Xero to download your data as a CSV file. This is typically found in the reports section or specific data pages, providing options like invoices, contacts, and transactions.
Step 2: Prepare Data for Transformation
Once you have your CSV file, open it in a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Review the data to ensure all necessary fields are included and clean up any inconsistencies. Remove any unnecessary columns or rows to streamline the transformation process.
Step 3: Define Weaviate Schema
Before importing data into Weaviate, you need to define a schema that matches the structure of your data. Access your Weaviate instance and navigate to the schema configuration section. Here, define classes and properties that align with the data you exported from Xero. Ensure the data types (e.g., text, number, date) correspond correctly.
Step 4: Transform Data to JSON
Convert your cleaned CSV data into JSON format, which is compatible with Weaviate's API. Use a script or tool to process the data transformation. For example, in Python, you can use pandas to read the CSV and json to write the output. Each row in the CSV should become a JSON object reflecting the schema defined in Weaviate.
Step 5: Set Up Weaviate Environment
Ensure your Weaviate environment is ready to receive data. This involves setting up a local or cloud-based Weaviate instance.
