Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Zapier-Supported Storage
Begin by exporting the data from your Zapier-supported storage. If you're using Google Sheets, for example, you can download the data as a CSV file. For Dropbox, you can directly download the file you wish to move. Ensure the data is in a format suitable for processing, such as CSV, JSON, or any other structured format.
Step 2: Install AWS CLI
Download and install the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) on your local machine. The AWS CLI will enable you to interact with AWS services directly from your command line, which is necessary for uploading data to S3.
Step 3: Configure AWS CLI
Configure the AWS CLI with your credentials by running `aws configure` in the command line. Provide your AWS Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, default region, and output format. This step is crucial for authenticating your actions with AWS services.
Step 4: Create an S3 Bucket
If you haven’t already, create an S3 bucket where you will upload your data. You can do this via the AWS Management Console or using the AWS CLI with the command `aws s3 mb s3://your-bucket-name`. Ensure that the bucket name is globally unique and complies with S3 naming conventions.
Step 5: Upload Data to S3
Use the AWS CLI to upload your data file to the S3 bucket. For example, run `aws s3 cp /path/to/your/file.csv s3://your-bucket-name/` to upload your CSV file. Verify that the file is successfully uploaded by checking the S3 bucket via the AWS Management Console or using the CLI.
Step 6: Create an AWS Glue Crawler
In the AWS Management Console, navigate to AWS Glue and create a new crawler. Configure the crawler to source data from the S3 bucket and specify the IAM role that has the necessary permissions to access the data in S3. The crawler will scan the data and create a metadata table in the Glue Data Catalog.
Step 7: Run the Glue Crawler and Query Data
Execute the Glue crawler to populate the Glue Data Catalog with metadata about your dataset. Once the crawler has completed its run, you can use AWS Glue to transform and query the data using AWS Glue Jobs or Athena. This allows you to analyze and further process the data as needed.
By following these steps, you can efficiently move data from Zapier-supported storage to AWS S3 and AWS Glue, enabling further data processing and analysis without the need for third-party connectors or integrations.
