How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Set Up Zoho CRM API Access

Begin by creating an account in Zoho if you haven't already. Access the Zoho Developer Console to create a new client application. This will provide you with essential credentials like Client ID and Client Secret. These credentials are necessary for authenticating your API requests.

Step 2: Authenticate and Obtain Access Token

Use the OAuth 2.0 protocol to authenticate your application. Send a POST request to Zoho's OAuth endpoint with your Client ID, Client Secret, and other required parameters to obtain an access token. This token will be used in subsequent API calls to access data from Zoho CRM.

Step 3: Extract Data from Zoho CRM

With the access token, make API requests to Zoho CRM's REST API to fetch the desired data. You can use endpoints such as `/crm/v2/Leads`, `/crm/v2/Contacts`, etc., depending on the data you need. Handle pagination if necessary, as Zoho CRM might limit the number of records per API call.

Step 4: Transform Data to Elasticsearch-Compatible Format

Once you have the data from Zoho CRM, transform it into a format compatible with Elasticsearch. This usually involves converting the data into a JSON format with appropriate field mappings. Ensure the data types in your JSON match the expected types in your Elasticsearch index.

Step 5: Set Up Elasticsearch Index

Before importing data, create an index in Elasticsearch that matches your transformed data structure. Use Elasticsearch's API to define the index settings and mappings. This setup is crucial for ensuring your data imports correctly and is searchable in Elasticsearch.

Step 6: Import Data into Elasticsearch

Use the Elasticsearch Bulk API to efficiently import large datasets. Construct a bulk request by combining multiple JSON objects into a single payload. Send this payload to Elasticsearch's `_bulk` endpoint to index your data. Monitor for any errors returned by Elasticsearch and handle them accordingly.

Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Search Functionality

After importing, verify that the data in Elasticsearch matches the source data from Zoho CRM. Perform search queries on the new index to ensure the data is correctly indexed and searchable. This step is crucial to confirm the successful migration and to validate that the search functionalities perform as expected.
