Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Zoom
Zoom provides built-in options to export meeting data. Begin by logging into your Zoom account and navigating to the Reports section. Here, you can generate reports such as meeting details, participant lists, or usage reports. Export these reports in a CSV format, which will be suitable for transformation and loading into Firebolt.
Step 2: Organize Exported Data
After exporting, organize the data files. Ensure each CSV file is named appropriately and stored in a structured manner, like using folders by date or type of data (e.g., meetings, participants, usage). This organization will help in managing data efficiently during the transformation process.
Step 3: Clean and Transform Data
Use a scripting language like Python or a tool like Excel to clean and transform your data. Remove any unnecessary fields, rename columns to match the schema you plan to use in Firebolt, and ensure data types are consistent. This step ensures that the data is ready for loading into Firebolt.
Step 4: Set Up Firebolt Database
If not already set up, create a new database in Firebolt. Define the schema (tables, columns, data types) that matches the cleaned and transformed data from Zoom. This setup will include specifying primary keys, indexes, and any other constraints necessary for your data model.
Step 5: Prepare Data for Loading
Convert your cleaned CSV files into a format that Firebolt can ingest efficiently. Firebolt supports bulk loading via CSV, so ensure your files are well-formatted, with consistent delimiters and no erroneous characters that might cause loading issues.
Step 6: Load Data into Firebolt
Use the Firebolt CLI or SQL Workbench to load your CSV files into the database. You can use the `COPY` command to import data from your files into the corresponding tables in Firebolt. Ensure you handle any errors during this process by checking logs and making necessary adjustments.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity
After loading data, run queries to verify that the data matches what was exported from Zoom. Check for completeness and accuracy across all tables. This step might include cross-verifying key metrics or sample data points against the original Zoom reports to ensure data integrity.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from Zoom to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations, ensuring a smooth and controlled data migration process.
