We’re very happy to announce our second release, named 0.2.0 (yes, there is a lot we want to accomplish before we can say we are at a 1.0 version).

With this new version, you will be able to build your own connectors, add and run in the UI, so your teams can leverage them for their different connections.

Let’s see how you can do that.

A new Admin section in the UI

In this Admin section, you will see 3 things:

The list of source connectors that you already use. You will be able to update them by just changing the tag version to the version you want. We will also give you a direct link to their respective Docker images.
The list of all available source connectors that are available to you. We will focus on adding new connectors in the next couple of weeks, so don’t hesitate to check the new connectors there.
A [+ new connector] button that will let you add your own connector to the UI. We will ask you for the display name, the Docker repository name, tag and documentation URL for that connector.

Once this is filled, you will see your connector in the UI and your team will be able to use it.

Note that this new connector could just be an updated version of an existing connector that you adapted to your specific edge case. Anything is possible!

The documentation to build your connectors

Here is the link to the documentation about how to build your own connectors. We will always strive to improve our documentation, so don’t hesitate to share with us anything that can be improved. For now, you can build source connectors in Python, and destination connectors in Java. Our goal is to enable you to use the language of your choice for both types of connectors.

Our own Postgres and BigQuery connectors

It is very important to us that the destination connectors and the most popular source connectors are super high-quality and battle-tested. So we started to build our own connectors for them, starting with Postgres and BigQuery. We will extend this list in the next couple of weeks.
