How to Sync to Manually
Begin by downloading the Google Web Fonts you need. Visit the Google Fonts website, select the fonts, and download them as a zip file. Extract the contents of the zip file to your local machine. This will typically include font files in formats like .ttf or .woff and a CSS file.
Organize the downloaded font files into a structured directory on your local machine. Ensure that all the necessary font files are grouped in a single directory for easy management and upload.
To upload data to Databricks Lakehouse, you need to use the Databricks CLI. Install it on your local machine by following the instructions in the Databricks documentation. This involves using pip to install the CLI and configuring authentication with your Databricks account.
Use the Databricks CLI to authenticate your session. Set up a Databricks access token from your Databricks account and configure the CLI to use this token. This ensures that you have the necessary permissions to upload files to Databricks Lakehouse.
Before uploading, create a directory in the Databricks File System (DBFS) to store the font files. Use the Databricks CLI to create this directory by running a command like `databricks fs mkdirs dbfs:/path/to/fonts`.
Use the Databricks CLI to upload your local font files to the directory you created in DBFS. Run a command like `databricks fs cp --recursive /local/path/to/fonts dbfs:/path/to/fonts`, where `/local/path/to/fonts` is the path to your local directory containing the font files.
Finally, verify that the fonts have been successfully uploaded. In Databricks, navigate to the Data tab and locate the directory in DBFS where you uploaded the fonts. Check that all files are present and accessible. You can now use these fonts within your Databricks notebooks or Lakehouse applications as needed.
