How to load data from HubSpot to TiDB

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your HubSpot data into TiDB within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Export Data from HubSpot

Begin by exporting the data you need from HubSpot. Navigate to the HubSpot dashboard, go to the specific section (like Contacts, Companies, etc.) from which you want to export data. Use the export option to download the data as a CSV file. Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to perform data exports.

Step 2: Transform CSV Data for TiDB Compatibility

Once you have your CSV file, inspect the data to ensure it aligns with TiDB's requirements. TiDB is MySQL-compatible, so the data types should generally match MySQL standards. Modify the CSV to ensure consistent formatting, such as converting date formats and ensuring numerical fields do not have unexpected characters.

Step 3: Install and Configure TiDB

If you haven't already set up TiDB, install it on your server. Follow the official TiDB installation documentation to set up a TiDB cluster. Ensure your configuration allows for remote access if you're planning to load data from a different machine. Verify that the server is running and accessible.

Step 4: Create Target Tables in TiDB

Connect to your TiDB instance using a MySQL client or command-line tool. Use SQL statements to create tables that mirror the structure of your HubSpot data. For instance, if your CSV contains columns like `Name`, `Email`, and `Phone`, create a corresponding table in TiDB with appropriate data types for each column.

Step 5: Load CSV Data into TiDB

Use the `LOAD DATA INFILE` SQL command to import the CSV data into TiDB. Ensure the CSV file is accessible from the server where TiDB is running. Run a command similar to the following:
```sql
LOAD DATA INFILE 'path/to/your/data.csv'
INTO TABLE your_table_name
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
ENCLOSED BY '"'
LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'
IGNORE 1 ROWS;
```
Adjust the file path and table name as necessary. Make sure to handle any potential errors related to data format or access permissions.

Step 6: Verify Data Integrity

After loading the data, perform a series of queries to ensure the data has been transferred accurately. Check for the correct number of rows, inspect a sample of the data to ensure fields are populated correctly, and verify that there are no missing or corrupted entries.

Step 7: Schedule Regular Data Updates

Since HubSpot data changes over time, consider setting up a regular schedule for exporting and importing updates. While doing this manually is feasible, you can script these processes using shell scripts or a programming language like Python to automate the export, transformation, and loading steps. Ensure you include error handling and logging in your scripts for troubleshooting purposes.

By following these steps, you'll be able to move data from HubSpot to TiDB effectively without relying on third-party connectors.
