Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand Klarna Data Requirements
Begin by identifying the types of data available in Klarna that you need to move. This may include transaction data, user data, or any other relevant datasets. Ensure you have the necessary permissions to access and export this data from Klarna.
Step 2: Export Data from Klarna
Use Klarna’s native export functionality to retrieve the required data. This may involve using their API or web interface to download data in CSV, JSON, or another standard format. Ensure you schedule regular exports if you need continuous data migration.
Step 3: Prepare a Secure Storage Environment
Set up a secure and accessible storage environment to temporarily hold the exported Klarna data. This could be a secure cloud storage service like AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, or a secure on-premises server, ensuring it meets your security and compliance requirements.
Step 4: Format Data for Compatibility
Convert the exported Klarna data into a format that is compatible with Databricks. This typically involves cleaning and transforming the data to align with the Lakehouse schema. Use tools like Python or SQL scripts to perform these transformations, ensuring data types and structures are consistent.
Step 5: Set Up Databricks Environment
Ensure your Databricks Lakehouse is configured and accessible. This includes setting up clusters, defining storage paths, and ensuring you have the necessary permissions to write data into the Lakehouse. Configure the environment to handle the data size and complexity you are working with.
Step 6: Transfer Data to Databricks Lakehouse
Move the formatted data from your secure storage environment into the Databricks Lakehouse. This can be done using Databricks' built-in functionalities such as `COPY INTO` for batch loading data from cloud storage, ensuring the data is correctly partitioned and stored.
Step 7: Validate and Automate the Process
Once the data is transferred, validate it to ensure accuracy and completeness. Check for discrepancies between source and destination data. After validations, automate the process for future data transfers using Databricks Jobs or scheduled scripts to ensure ongoing data synchronization.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from Klarna to a Databricks Lakehouse without relying on third-party connectors, maintaining control over the entire process.
