How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Identify Data to Export from NetSuite
Start by determining which datasets or records you need to transfer from NetSuite to ClickHouse. This could include customer data, transaction records, or inventory details. Make a list of these data entities and fields you need to export.
Step 2: Export Data from NetSuite
Use NetSuite's built-in export functionalities to extract data. Go to the relevant report or saved search in NetSuite, and use the export option to download the data as a CSV file. Ensure you include all necessary fields during this export process.
Step 3: Prepare the Data for ClickHouse
Once you have the CSV files, clean and transform the data to ensure compatibility with ClickHouse's schema. This might include reformatting date fields, normalizing text formats, or restructuring data to meet ClickHouse's data type requirements.
Step 4: Set Up ClickHouse Database and Tables
Before importing the data, ensure that your ClickHouse database is set up and tables are created to match the structure of your exported data. Use ClickHouse's SQL syntax to define tables with the necessary columns and data types.
Step 5: Transfer CSV Files to ClickHouse Server
Move your CSV files to the server where ClickHouse is running. This can be done using secure file transfer protocols like SCP or SFTP. Ensure that the files are accessible and reside in a directory where ClickHouse can read them.
Step 6: Import Data into ClickHouse
Use ClickHouse's command-line client or a SQL interface to import the CSV data into your ClickHouse tables. The basic command syntax would look like this:
```
clickhouse-client --query="INSERT INTO your_table_name FORMAT CSV" < /path/to/yourfile.csv
```
Ensure that the CSV format matches the column order and types in your ClickHouse table.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Accuracy
After importing the data, run queries to verify that the data has been accurately and completely transferred. Check for any discrepancies and ensure that the data types and values are consistent with expectations. If needed, make adjustments and re-import data as necessary.
By following these steps, you can effectively transfer data from NetSuite to ClickHouse without relying on third-party connectors or integrations, maintaining complete control over the data movement process.
