Most of the useful context in your business tools lives in places structured queries can't reach. Filtering and keyword match isn’t sufficient. That’s why we have been expanding semantic search to more connectors, because it allows agents to query context via meaning, not just filtering.
This week, Airbyte's agentic platform added semantic search to four more connectors: Freshdesk , Twilio , Typeform , and Incident.io . These join the existing set (GitHub, Zendesk, Gong, Linear, Google Drive, and Granola), bringing the total to ten connectors.
The improvements to Airbyte's agentic platform don’t stop there!
We also shipped t he Gmail agent connector, which I personally am thrilled about as a lifelong Gmail user.
Why these updates matter We’ve discussed the importance of semantic search in our previous posts , so I’ll keep this brief. The simple reality is that when users interact with agents, they don’t always know which entities or fields the agent needs to access. Sometimes they don’t even know the right words to use! The agent needs to be able to search data sources by intuiting meaning from phrases, and connecting them across sources.
We’re prioritizing semantic search for the connectors that need it most. We think you’ll appreciate the value add your team will get from these four new connector upgrades.
We’re huge Gmail users at Airbyte, and we’re pretty pleased the Gmail connector is now publicly available. It’s a huge asset for almost everyone here, including our office manager .
What's new in Airbyte's agentic platform Semantic search on four more connectors All four new connectors support semantic search over their free-text fields through the Context Store. As data syncs, Airbyte extracts text from these fields, splits it into passages, generates embeddings, and indexes them. When your agent asks a natural-language question, the platform embeds the question and returns the most relevant passages ranked by similarity.
The details for each connector:
Freshdesk: Search across ticket descriptions, agent notes, and customer replies.
Twilio: Search SMS and messaging logs by content.
Typeform: Search form responses by meaning. If you run NPS surveys, customer feedback forms, or intake questionnaires, your agent can answer questions in natural language across all submissions.
Incident.io: Search incident descriptions, timelines, and postmortem content.
Gmail agent connector
Gmail is now available as an agent connector, giving your agent access to email threads, labels, messages, and profile data. Connect your Gmail account once, and the agent can search and read your email programmatically through the same interface you use for every other connector.
Concrete scenarios you can build today Support intelligence across platforms. If your support team uses both Freshdesk and Zendesk (or is migrating between them), your agent can search ticket content across both systems semantically.
Customer voice from multiple channels. Combine Typeform survey responses, Twilio SMS conversations, and Gmail threads to build a complete picture of what a customer segment is experiencing. One query, three sources, real quotes instead of summary statistics.
Incident pattern detection. Search Incident.io postmortems, GitHub PR descriptions, and Linear issue comments for recurring patterns.
Sales prep with real context. Before a renewal call, search Gong transcripts for previous conversations with the account, Zendesk tickets for unresolved issues, and Gmail for recent correspondence. The agent delivers a briefing with actual quotes and specifics, sourced from each system.
Getting started If you're already using Airbyte's agentic platform, the new semantic search capabilities are available as soon as your data syncs and embeddings are built. Connect Freshdesk, Twilio, Typeform, or Incident.io, select the entities you want indexed, and the Context Store handles the rest.
If you're building a custom agent with the Python SDK or MCP, semantic search is available through the same execute interface. The connector's skill docs update automatically to reflect which entities have semantic search enabled.
