How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Freshsales
Start by logging into your Freshsales account. Navigate to the section containing the data you wish to export, such as Contacts, Leads, Accounts, or Deals. Use the built-in export feature to download the data in a CSV format, as this is a common format supported by both Freshsales and Teradata.
Step 2: Prepare the CSV Files
Review the CSV files to ensure they are formatted correctly and contain all necessary data. Open the files using a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Clean up any unnecessary columns or data, and ensure that the data types (e.g., date, number, text) are consistent and accurate.
Step 3: Set Up Access to Teradata
Ensure you have access to your Teradata instance with the appropriate credentials. You will need to have both read and write permissions to create tables and upload data. If you do not have access, contact your database administrator to get the necessary permissions.
Step 4: Create Teradata Tables
Log into your Teradata Database using a SQL client like Teradata Studio or BTEQ. Using the structure of your CSV files, write and execute SQL statements to create corresponding tables in Teradata. Define the columns with the appropriate data types to match the data from Freshsales.
Step 5: Transfer CSV Files to Teradata Environment
Use a secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) or secure copy protocol (SCP) to move the CSV files to a directory accessible by your Teradata instance. Ensure the Teradata environment has access to the directory where the CSV files are stored.
Step 6: Load Data into Teradata
Use Teradata"s bulk loading utilities such as Teradata FastLoad or Teradata Parallel Transporter (TPT). Construct the load scripts to import data from the CSV files into the corresponding tables. Make sure to handle any exceptions or errors during the loading process, such as data type mismatches or duplicate entries.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Quality
After loading, perform a series of checks to ensure the data has been imported correctly. Run SQL queries to compare the number of records, check for null values, and validate data types against the original CSV files. Resolve any discrepancies by adjusting the data or re-importing as necessary.
