  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.
After Airbyte
Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a Railz connector in Airbyte

Connect to Railz or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up TiDB for your extracted Railz data

Select TiDB where you want to import data from your Railz source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the Railz to TiDB in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync Railz to TiDB Manually

Start by understanding the data format and structure in Railz. Identify the data types, schemas, and any specific fields or tables that need to be transferred. It's crucial to have a clear understanding of the data to ensure a smooth migration process.

Use Railz's built-in export functionalities to extract data. Depending on your setup, this could be done via an API call or by exporting data into a CSV or JSON format. Ensure to export all necessary data and verify the completeness of the exported files.

Set up your TiDB environment if it's not already configured. This includes installing TiDB on your chosen infrastructure, configuring the necessary network and security settings, and ensuring that you have access to the TiDB CLI or GUI tools for data import.

Based on the data structure from Railz, design an equivalent schema in TiDB. This includes creating tables, defining data types, and setting up primary keys and indexes as needed. Ensure that the schema is optimized for TiDB's distributed architecture.

If there are any differences in data types or schema structures between Railz and TiDB, transform the data accordingly. This may involve using scripting languages like Python or SQL scripts to modify data formats, types, or structures to match the TiDB schema.

Use TiDB's native tools such as `TiDB Lightning` or the `LOAD DATA` SQL command to import the transformed data into TiDB. Ensure that you handle potential issues such as duplicate entries, data validation errors, or performance bottlenecks during the import process.

After importing the data, perform thorough data integrity checks to ensure that the data in TiDB matches the original data from Railz. Run queries to verify data accuracy and completeness. Additionally, monitor TiDB's performance to ensure that it is optimized for your queries and workloads.

By following these steps, you can effectively move data from Railz to TiDB without the need for third-party connectors or integrations.

FAQs

ETL, an acronym for Extract, Transform, Load, is a vital data integration process. It involves extracting data from diverse sources, transforming it into a usable format, and loading it into a database, data warehouse or data lake. This process enables meaningful data analysis, enhancing business intelligence.

The Railz API connects to major accounting, banking, and eCommerce platforms to provide you quick access to normalized and analyzed financial data on your small and medium-sized customers.

Railz's API provides access to a wide range of financial data related to small and medium-sized businesses. The data can be categorized into the following categories:

1. Financial Statements: This category includes data related to income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
2. Transaction Data: This category includes data related to transactions such as sales, purchases, and expenses.
3. Banking Data: This category includes data related to bank accounts, transactions, and balances.
4. Credit Data: This category includes data related to credit scores, credit reports, and credit history.
5. Tax Data: This category includes data related to tax filings, payments, and refunds.
6. Payroll Data: This category includes data related to employee payroll, taxes, and benefits.
7. Accounting Data: This category includes data related to general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
8. Business Data: This category includes data related to business information such as company name, address, and industry classification.

Overall, Railz's API provides a comprehensive set of financial data that can be used by businesses and financial institutions to make informed decisions.

This can be done by building a data pipeline manually, usually a Python script (you can leverage a tool as Apache Airflow for this). This process can take more than a full week of development. Or it can be done in minutes on Airbyte in three easy steps:
1. Set up Railz to TiDB as a source connector (using Auth, or usually an API key)
2. Choose a destination (more than 50 available destination databases, data warehouses or lakes) to sync data too and set it up as a destination connector
3. Define which data you want to transfer from Railz to TiDB and how frequently
You can choose to self-host the pipeline using Airbyte Open Source or have it managed for you with Airbyte Cloud.

ELT, standing for Extract, Load, Transform, is a modern take on the traditional ETL data integration process. In ELT, data is first extracted from various sources, loaded directly into a data warehouse, and then transformed. This approach enhances data processing speed, analytical flexibility and autonomy.

ETL and ELT are critical data integration strategies with key differences. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) transforms data before loading, ideal for structured data. In contrast, ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) loads data before transformation, perfect for processing large, diverse data sets in modern data warehouses. ELT is becoming the new standard as it offers a lot more flexibility and autonomy to data analysts.
