Frequently Asked Questions
What is the pricing model for Airbyte Cloud?
Airbyte Cloud is usage-based, so you only pay for what you sync. This typically includes any data created, updated or deleted.
As your volume grows, the price you pay scales with you. Additional discounts are also unlocked with larger bulk purchases.
|
API source | $15 per million rows synced |
Database, warehouse & file sources | $10 per GB synced |
Custom sources | $15 per million rows synced |
Data replication from database sources and files consume less compute time and therefore costs less for Airbyte. We pass those savings onto our customers through our pricing model.
What are Airbyte credits?
Credits are how we unify usage across all types of sources. The base price of a credit is $2.50.
You can purchase credits anytime directly through your Airbyte workspace with a credit card. If you prefer to pay via ACH or are interested in high-volume discounts, contact us.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You'll need to add additional credits to your workspace to ensure your syncs continue running. If you purchased at a discounted rate through Sales, reach out to us for an extension of your credit package.
Do purchased credits expire?
Credits you purchase will expire after one year. If you have concerns about your credits expiring before you can use them, reach out to us.
I have very high volume needs, what should I do?
If you want to replicate more than 150GB of data from your databases or 100 million rows from your APIs on a monthly basis, we encourage you to talk to our sales team to access volume discounts.

How does “included volume” work?
Each company onboarded includes 1M modified rows (API sources) or 1.5GB (database sources) of included monthly volume. This included volume is an aggregated total that can be utilized across all customers.
Example
• 100 companies includes 100M rows of monthly volume.
• If one company utilizes 50M rows, the other 99 companies can utilize the remaining 50M rows.
What if my customers use more than the total included volume?
This will be a rare scenario based on averages we have seen for Powered by Airbyte. That said, any overage volume in a month will be billed at our normal rates of $15 per 1M rows or 1.5GBs.
Example
• 100 companies includes 100M rows of monthly volume. ($1000)
• But the aggregated total volume utilized ends up being 103M rows for that month.
• The extra 3M rows are billed at $15 each ($45). The total bill is $1045 for that month.
Are volume discounts available?
What is meant by “incremental syncs only”?
All sources should be synced from using incremental syncing mode (which means only sync records added to the source since the last sync job)
Full refresh syncing mode should only be used when incremental syncing mode is not available for a source (Full refresh means sync all records from a source, every time, including records that have already been synced in the past)
More details on syncing is available here.
What does “modified rows” mean?
Modified rows refers to any rows added, updated, or deleted.
What is meant by “free historical syncs” & “free resyncs”?
Historical syncs and resyncs do not consume any included volume or overage volume.
