Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Smartsheets
Begin by exporting your data from Smartsheets. Log in to your Smartsheets account, navigate to the relevant sheet, and click on "File" in the top menu. Select "Export" and choose the format that best suits your needs, such as CSV or Excel. Save the exported file to your local drive.
Step 2: Prepare Your Data
Open the exported file using a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Review the data to ensure that it is clean and correctly formatted for import into Convex. Make any necessary adjustments, such as removing unnecessary columns, correcting data types, or fixing errors.
Step 3: Access Convex Database
Log in to your Convex account. Navigate to the section where you can manage your database or data tables. If this is your first time setting up a table, you may need to create a new table structure that matches the columns and data types from your exported Smartsheets file.
Step 4: Create Matching Table Structure
Before importing, ensure that the table structure in Convex matches the structure of your data. Define columns with appropriate data types (e.g., string, number, date) and ensure that the column names are consistent with your data file. This step is crucial to prevent import errors.
Step 5: Manually Input Data
Since you are not using third-party connectors, you will need to manually input data into Convex. Open your prepared data file and start copying data from the spreadsheet into the Convex table. Use batch entries where possible to save time. This process may be tedious for large datasets, so consider dividing the work or using copy-paste functions efficiently.
Step 6: Verify Data Accuracy
After inputting the data, carefully verify its accuracy. Check that all entries have been correctly transferred and that no data has been lost or altered during the process. Pay particular attention to data types and ensure that all fields match the expected formats in Convex.
Step 7: Perform Data Maintenance
Once the data is successfully moved, set up a routine for maintaining the data integrity within Convex. Regularly update your data manually as needed, and consider implementing a process for periodic data reviews to ensure ongoing accuracy and relevance.
By following these steps, you can manually transfer your data from Smartsheets to Convex without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
