"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Set Up Yandex Metrica API Access
To begin, you need to establish access to the Yandex Metrica API. Log in to your Yandex account, navigate to the Yandex API Console, and create a new application. This will provide you with the necessary OAuth token and client ID required for authenticating your API requests.
Step 2: Authenticate and Obtain an Access Token
Use the OAuth token obtained from your Yandex application to authenticate your requests. You can do this by sending a POST request to Yandex’s OAuth token URL with your client ID, client secret, and refresh token. This will return an access token that will be used for subsequent API requests.
Step 3: Extract Data from Yandex Metrica
Utilize the Yandex Metrica Reporting API to extract the data you need. Construct an HTTP GET request using your access token and specify the metrics, dimensions, and date range you require. The API response will be in JSON format, containing the data you wish to transfer.
Step 4: Parse the JSON Data
With the JSON data obtained from Yandex Metrica, parse it using a programming language of your choice (e.g., Python, JavaScript). This step involves converting the JSON data into a format that is suitable for insertion into MongoDB. Libraries like `json` in Python can simplify this process.
Step 5: Set Up a MongoDB Database
Install MongoDB on your server or use a managed service like MongoDB Atlas. Create a new database and collection where you will store the Yandex Metrica data. Ensure that your MongoDB instance is accessible and ready to receive data.
Step 6: Insert Data into MongoDB
Use a MongoDB client library (such as `pymongo` for Python) to connect to your MongoDB database. Write a script that iterates through the parsed JSON data and inserts each record into your MongoDB collection. Ensure that the data fields in MongoDB align with those extracted from Yandex Metrica.
Step 7: Verify Data Transfer
After transferring the data, verify that it has been correctly inserted into MongoDB. Use MongoDB Compass or the MongoDB shell to inspect the data in your database. Check for completeness and correctness to ensure that the data matches what was extracted from Yandex Metrica.
By following these steps, you can successfully transfer data from Yandex Metrica to a MongoDB database without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
