“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Familiarize yourself with the Monday.com API documentation. This step is crucial as it will allow you to understand how to authenticate, make requests, and handle responses. Sign up for an API key from your Monday.com account which will be used to access the data programmatically.
Prepare a development environment with necessary tools such as Python or Node.js, which have libraries for making HTTP requests. Ensure you have a working installation of Kafka and Kafka client libraries for your chosen programming language.
Write a script to authenticate and fetch data from Monday.com using their API. Use the API key obtained earlier to make HTTP GET requests to the specific endpoints you need data from, such as boards, items, or updates.
Parse the JSON response from Monday.com and transform it into a format suitable for Kafka. This may involve structuring the data as key-value pairs or organizing it into specific schemas if you're using Kafka Schema Registry.
Configure a Kafka producer in your script. Use the Kafka client library to connect to your Kafka broker. Specify the topic to which you want to publish the data. Ensure Kafka is running and the topic is created in your Kafka cluster.
Integrate the data-fetching script with the Kafka producer. Convert the parsed data into a format compatible with Kafka (e.g., JSON strings or Avro) and send it to the specified Kafka topic. Handle any potential errors during data transmission to ensure reliability.
Implement logging and error handling within your script to monitor the data transfer process. Optimize the script for performance by batching data requests and Kafka message sends where possible. Regularly check Kafka for any issues and ensure data integrity.
By following these steps, you can effectively move data from Monday.com to Kafka without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
