Predictable, straightforward pricing model that simplified budgeting and significantly reduced overall spend

Chase Zieman

“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Prepare the Oracle Database
Begin by ensuring that the Oracle database is accessible and that you have the necessary credentials to access it. Verify that the tables you want to export are in a consistent state, and if necessary, perform any data transformations or cleaning within Oracle.
Step 2: Export Data from Oracle to CSV
Use Oracle's SQL*Plus or SQL Developer to export the data into CSV files. You can execute a SQL query to select the data you need and redirect the output to a CSV file. For example, in SQL*Plus, use the `SPOOL` command to export data:
```sql
SPOOL exported_data.csv
SELECT * FROM your_table;
SPOOL OFF;
```
Step 3: Transfer CSV Files to Firebolt
Transfer the exported CSV files to a location accessible by Firebolt. This could be an Amazon S3 bucket, as Firebolt can directly access data stored in S3. Use a tool like AWS CLI to upload the files:
```bash
aws s3 cp exported_data.csv s3://your-bucket-name/
```
Step 4: Prepare Firebolt Environment
Set up your Firebolt environment by creating the necessary database and tables to match the schema of your Oracle data. Use Firebolt's SQL interface to define tables with appropriate data types and structures.
Step 5: Load Data into Firebolt
Use Firebolt's COPY command to load data from the CSV files stored in S3 into your Firebolt tables. The COPY command allows specifying the data source and target table:
```sql
COPY INTO firebolt_table
FROM 's3://your-bucket-name/exported_data.csv'
CREDENTIALS
(AWS_KEY_ID='', AWS_SECRET_KEY='')
FILE_FORMAT = (TYPE = CSV, FIELD_DELIMITER = ',', HEADER = TRUE);
```
Step 6: Verify Data Integrity
After loading the data, perform checks to ensure data integrity. Compare row counts and key metrics between Oracle and Firebolt datasets to verify successful migration. Use SQL queries in Firebolt to perform these checks.
Step 7: Optimize Firebolt Tables
Once the data is loaded and verified, optimize the Firebolt tables for performance. Consider using Firebolt's features such as indexing and partitioning to enhance query performance. Regularly analyze and reorganize tables as necessary to maintain performance.
By following these steps, you can manually transfer data from Oracle to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
