How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from Klaviyo
Log in to your Klaviyo account and navigate to the "Analytics" or "Profiles" section, depending on the type of data you need. Use the export feature to download data as a CSV file. Ensure that you select the appropriate fields and time range for your data needs.
Step 2: Prepare Data Files
Review the exported CSV files to ensure all necessary data is included. Open the CSV files in a spreadsheet application like Excel or Google Sheets. Clean the data by removing any unnecessary columns, rows, and ensuring that the data types are consistent across all records.
Step 3: Transform Data for Firebolt Compatibility
Firebolt requires data to be in a format compatible with its database specifications. Convert your CSV data into a format such as Parquet or ORC if needed for better performance during the loading process. Use a tool like Apache Arrow or Apache Drill to perform this transformation.
Step 4: Set Up Firebolt Environment
Log in to your Firebolt account. If you do not have an account, create one and set up your database. Make sure you have the necessary permissions to create tables and import data. Configure any required settings specific to your data import needs.
Step 5: Create Tables in Firebolt
Based on the structure of your CSV files, write SQL CREATE TABLE statements to define the schema of the tables in Firebolt. Ensure that the data types in the SQL statements match those of your transformed data to prevent any errors during data import.
Step 6: Upload Data to Firebolt Storage
Firebolt allows data to be uploaded directly to its storage system. Use the Firebolt Command Line Interface (CLI) or a compatible API to upload your data files to the Firebolt storage, making note of the file paths for use in subsequent steps.
Step 7: Load Data into Firebolt Tables
Use SQL COPY commands to load the data from Firebolt storage into the tables you created. Specify the file paths, format, and any necessary options such as delimiter or escape characters to match your data's format. Verify the data load by running simple SELECT queries to ensure the integrity and completeness of the data.
By following these steps, you can manually move data from Klaviyo to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
