How to load data from Amazon Ads to TiDB

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your Amazon Ads data into TiDB within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

Start syncing with Airbyte in 3 easy steps within 10 minutes

Set up a Amazon Ads connector in Airbyte

Connect to or one of 400+ pre-built or 10,000+ custom connectors through simple account authentication.

Set up TiDB for your extracted Amazon Ads data

Select where you want to import data from your source to. You can also choose other cloud data warehouses, databases, data lakes, vector databases, or any other supported Airbyte destinations.

Configure the Amazon Ads to TiDB in Airbyte

This includes selecting the data you want to extract - streams and columns -, the sync frequency, where in the destination you want that data to be loaded.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Understand Amazon Ads API

Before proceeding, familiarize yourself with the Amazon Ads API documentation. This will help you understand the available endpoints, authentication methods, and data formats. You need to know which API endpoints will provide the data you require and how to authenticate your requests.

Step 2: Set Up AWS IAM User for API Access

Create an IAM user in your AWS account with permissions to access Amazon Ads API. Assign the necessary policies that allow this user to make API requests. Take note of the access key ID and secret access key, which will be needed for authentication.

Step 3: Write a Script to Extract Data

Develop a script using a programming language like Python or Node.js to extract data from Amazon Ads. Use the access key and secret key for authentication. Make API calls to fetch the required data, handling pagination if necessary. Store the response data in a structured format, such as JSON or CSV.

Step 4: Transform Data for TiDB Compatibility

Once the data is extracted, transform it into a format compatible with TiDB. Ensure that the data types and structures match those in the TiDB schema. If necessary, clean the data to remove inconsistencies or errors.

Step 5: Set Up TiDB Environment

Install and configure TiDB on your server or cloud environment. Ensure that it is running and accessible. Create the necessary database and tables in TiDB that will store the Amazon Ads data. Define the schema according to the transformed data format.

Step 6: Write a Script to Load Data into TiDB

Develop another script to load the transformed data into TiDB. Use a language or tool that supports MySQL-compatible connections, as TiDB is MySQL compatible. This script should connect to the TiDB instance and execute SQL INSERT statements to load the data into the appropriate tables.

Step 7: Automate the Process

Create a cron job or a scheduled task to automate the entire process of extracting, transforming, and loading data. This will ensure that your TiDB database is consistently updated with the latest data from Amazon Ads, keeping your analytics reliable and up-to-date.

By following these steps, you can efficiently move data from Amazon Ads to TiDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
