"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand Delighted's API
Begin by familiarizing yourself with Delighted's API documentation. Delighted provides an API that allows you to access survey responses, metrics, and other data. Review the available endpoints, authentication requirements, and data formats to understand how you can retrieve the data you need.
Step 2: Set Up API Authentication
To access Delighted's API, you'll need to authenticate your requests. Obtain your API key from the Delighted account settings. Use basic HTTP authentication by including your API key in the request header. This will allow you to pull data securely from Delighted.
Step 3: Fetch Data from Delighted
Write a script in your preferred programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js) to send HTTP GET requests to Delighted's API endpoints. Use the API key for authentication and specify any query parameters needed to filter the data. Parse the JSON responses to extract the data you want to move to MongoDB.
Step 4: Set Up MongoDB Environment
Ensure you have a MongoDB server running, either locally or remotely. Install MongoDB and set up a database where you'll store the data from Delighted. Create collections within the database to organize the data appropriately based on its structure (e.g., responses, surveys).
Step 5: Transform Data for MongoDB
Convert the data retrieved from Delighted into a format suitable for MongoDB. This typically involves ensuring the data is structured as JSON objects, which MongoDB can store directly. Consider any necessary data transformations or cleaning to match the schema of your MongoDB collections.
Step 6: Insert Data into MongoDB
Use a MongoDB client library in your script (such as PyMongo for Python or the MongoDB Node.js Driver) to connect to your MongoDB server. Insert the transformed data into the appropriate collections. Implement error handling to manage any issues that arise during the data insertion process.
Step 7: Automate and Schedule Data Transfer
Once your data transfer process is working, automate it to run at regular intervals. Use cron jobs (on Unix-based systems) or Task Scheduler (on Windows) to schedule your script to execute periodically, ensuring your MongoDB database remains updated with the latest data from Delighted.
By following these steps, you can successfully transfer data from Delighted to MongoDB without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
