“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Begin by familiarizing yourself with the Gong API documentation to understand how to access and retrieve the data you need. Similarly, review the Convex API documentation to understand how to send or push data into Convex. Make note of authentication requirements, rate limits, and data formats.
Both Gong and Convex will require authentication to access their APIs. Typically, this involves generating API keys or tokens. Follow the documentation to create these credentials for both platforms. Ensure that they are stored securely and are not exposed in your code.
Write a script to access the Gong API and extract the necessary data. Use the appropriate API endpoints to query the data you need. Depending on the data size, you might need to paginate through results. Store the extracted data temporarily in a structured format such as JSON or CSV.
Process the extracted data to match the format required by the Convex API. This might involve restructuring JSON objects, renaming fields, or converting data types. Ensure that the transformed data aligns with the schema expected by Convex.
Implement error handling to catch and manage potential issues during data extraction, transformation, or loading. Additionally, set up logging to record the success or failure of operations, which will help in troubleshooting any problems that arise.
Use the Convex API to push the transformed data into the target system. Write a script to make POST or PUT requests to the appropriate endpoints in Convex. Consider implementing batching to efficiently handle large volumes of data and adhere to API rate limits.
After loading the data, perform checks to verify that the data in Convex matches what was extracted from Gong. This might involve spot-checking records or using Convex's analytics tools to run queries that confirm the data transfer was successful and accurate.
By following these steps, you can move data from Gong to Convex without relying on third-party connectors or integrations, ensuring a tailored solution that meets your specific needs.
