"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Understand NetSuite's SuiteScript and Saved Searches
Before extracting data, familiarize yourself with NetSuite's SuiteScript and Saved Searches. SuiteScript allows you to create custom scripts to retrieve data programmatically, while Saved Searches enable you to define and save specific data queries that can be exported.
Step 2: Create a Saved Search in NetSuite
Log into your NetSuite account and navigate to the Reports section. Create a new Saved Search to define the specific data you want to extract. Set the required criteria, results columns, and filters. This Saved Search will serve as the basis for your data extraction.
Step 3: Export Data Using SuiteScript
Write a SuiteScript script to programmatically run the Saved Search and extract its results. Utilize SuiteScript's RESTlet or SuiteTalk API to access the search results. This script should be capable of handling the data in a structured format like CSV or JSON, which is suitable for import into Firebolt.
Step 4: Set Up a Secure Data Transfer Mechanism
Establish a secure method to transfer the extracted data from NetSuite to your local system or a cloud storage solution (e.g., AWS S3). Ensure that the data is encrypted during transfer to maintain security and compliance with data protection regulations. This might involve using secure FTP (SFTP) or HTTPS.
Step 5: Prepare Data for Firebolt Ingestion
Once the data is securely transferred, prepare it for ingestion into Firebolt. This step involves ensuring the data is in the correct format (CSV, Parquet, or JSON) and structure that Firebolt supports. Cleanse and normalize the data if necessary to match Firebolt’s data schema requirements.
Step 6: Load Data into Firebolt
Log into your Firebolt account and use the Firebolt Command Line Interface (CLI) or Firebolt's SQL interface to load the prepared data. Use the COPY command to ingest the data from your local system or the cloud storage location into Firebolt. Ensure that you follow Firebolt’s best practices for data loading to optimize performance.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Performance in Firebolt
After loading the data, perform a series of checks to verify its completeness and accuracy. Run sample queries to ensure the data integrity and assess the query performance. Adjust indexing and partitioning strategies if necessary to optimize query efficiency in Firebolt.
By following these steps, you can manually transfer data from NetSuite to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations. Each step ensures that the data transfer process is secure, accurate, and efficient.
