How to Sync to Manually
First, thoroughly understand the data structure and format in Secoda. Identify the datasets, tables, and fields you need to extract. Ensure you have necessary permissions to access and export the data.
Use Secoda's data export functionality to download the data. Typically, this can be achieved by exporting the data into CSV or JSON format. Ensure that you export the data in manageable sizes to facilitate easier handling and processing.
Once exported, ensure the data is clean and correctly formatted for ClickHouse ingestion. This may involve data validation, transformation, or cleaning processes such as removing duplicates, handling missing values, or converting data types.
Install and configure ClickHouse on your server if it is not already set up. Ensure that your ClickHouse instance is running and accessible. Create the necessary databases and tables that match the schema of the data exported from Secoda.
Move the exported data files to the server where ClickHouse is hosted. This can be done using secure transfer protocols such as SCP (Secure Copy Protocol) or SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).
Utilize ClickHouse's native command-line tools to import the data. Use the `clickhouse-client` command with the appropriate `INSERT INTO` or `LOAD` command, specifying the file format and path. Ensure that the table schema in ClickHouse matches the format of your data files.
After the data is loaded into ClickHouse, perform a series of checks to ensure data integrity and completeness. Run queries to compare row counts, validate data types, and check for any missing or corrupted records. Make adjustments if necessary to ensure the data set is correctly imported.
By following these steps, you can efficiently transfer data from Secoda to ClickHouse without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
