How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Export Data from WooCommerce
Begin by exporting your WooCommerce data. Log into your WordPress admin panel, navigate to WooCommerce > Orders or Products, depending on what data you need. Use the "Export" feature, selecting the appropriate data fields (such as order details, customer information, product data) and choose CSV as the file format for the export.
Step 2: Prepare Data for Transformation
Once you have your CSV file, inspect the data for any inconsistencies or errors. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet application like Excel or Google Sheets. Ensure columns are correctly labeled, consistent, and clean. Remove duplicate entries and correct any data type mismatches (e.g., dates should be in a uniform format).
Step 3: Convert CSV to SQL Insert Statements
To load data into Firebolt, you'll need to convert your CSV data into SQL insert statements. This can be done using a script in a programming language like Python. Use Python's pandas library to read the CSV file, and then iterate over each row to construct SQL INSERT statements matching the schema you intend to create in Firebolt.
Step 4: Establish Connection to Firebolt
Before uploading data, ensure you have a Firebolt account and have set up the necessary credentials. Use a Firebolt client (like the Firebolt CLI or a Python library) to establish a connection to your Firebolt database. Ensure your network settings allow for this connection and that your Firebolt instance is ready to accept data.
Step 5: Create Target Table in Firebolt
Use the Firebolt client to create a table that matches the structure of your WooCommerce data. Define the table schema carefully, specifying appropriate data types for each column. For example, a column containing date data should be created as a DATE or TIMESTAMP type in Firebolt.
Step 6: Upload Data to Firebolt
With the SQL insert statements ready, execute them against your Firebolt database. This can be done using a script that connects to Firebolt and executes each statement in sequence. Ensure that the data is being inserted correctly by monitoring the process and checking for any errors or interruptions.
Step 7: Verify Data Integrity and Completeness
After loading the data, run queries in Firebolt to verify that all data has been transferred accurately and completely. Compare row counts, verify data types, and conduct spot checks on key fields to ensure data integrity. Correct any errors by re-uploading affected records with revised SQL statements.
By following these steps, you can successfully move data from WooCommerce to Firebolt without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
