How to load data from WorkRamp to MySQL Destination

Learn how to use Airbyte to synchronize your WorkRamp data into MySQL Destination within minutes.

Building your pipeline or Using Airbyte

Airbyte is the only open source solution empowering data teams  to meet all their growing custom business demands in the new AI era.

Building in-house pipelines

Bespoke pipelines are:
  • Inconsistent and inaccurate data
  • Laborious and expensive
  • Brittle and inflexible
Furthermore, you will need to build and maintain Y x Z pipelines with Y sources and Z destinations to cover all your needs.

After Airbyte

Airbyte connections are:
  • Reliable and accurate
  • Extensible and scalable for all your needs
  • Deployed and governed your way
All your pipelines in minutes, however custom they are, thanks to Airbyte’s connector marketplace and AI Connector Builder.

How to Sync to Manually

Step 1: Understand Workramp Data Export Options

Begin by exploring how Workramp allows data export. Typically, platforms like Workramp offer data export features to download reports or data in CSV or Excel format. Check the documentation or settings within Workramp to identify how you can export the data you need.

Step 2: Export Data from Workramp

Once you've identified the export options, proceed to export the required data. This usually involves selecting the specific data set or report you need, such as user performance metrics or training completion status, and downloading it in a supported format like CSV or Excel.

Step 3: Prepare the Data for Import

After downloading the data, open it in a spreadsheet application to review and clean it. Ensure that the data is well-structured, normalize column headers to match your MySQL table schema, and remove any unnecessary columns or unwanted data entries to streamline the import process.

Step 4: Set Up MySQL Database and Table

If you haven't already, set up your MySQL database and create a table that matches the structure of the data you plan to import. Use SQL commands to define the table schema, ensuring that data types align with the data you have exported from Workramp.

Step 5: Convert CSV to SQL-Compatible Format

For importing data into MySQL, convert your cleaned CSV file into a format suitable for SQL operations. You can do this by writing a simple script in Python, PHP, or another language that reads the CSV file and generates SQL `INSERT` statements, or you can use MySQL’s built-in `LOAD DATA INFILE` command if the CSV is directly compatible.

Step 6: Import Data into MySQL

Use MySQL's `LOAD DATA INFILE` command or execute the generated SQL `INSERT` statements to import the data into your MySQL database. Ensure that the MySQL server has the necessary permissions to access the file location if using `LOAD DATA INFILE`, and handle any potential errors that arise during import.

Step 7: Verify Data Integrity

After the data import completes, run queries to verify that the data in your MySQL database matches the original data exported from Workramp. Check for any discrepancies in the number of rows or unexpected data conversions, and correct any issues by re-importing or updating specific entries as needed.

By following these steps, you can efficiently transfer data from Workramp to a MySQL destination without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
