“Airbyte helped us accelerate our progress by years, compared to our competitors. We don’t need to worry about connectors and focus on creating value for our users instead of building infrastructure. That’s priceless. The time and energy saved allows us to disrupt and grow faster.”

Rupak Patel
"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Access ActiveCampaign API
Begin by obtaining your ActiveCampaign API URL and API Key. These are necessary to authenticate and interact with the ActiveCampaign API. Log into your ActiveCampaign account, go to the "Settings" page, and find the "Developer" option where your API URL and Key are listed.
Step 2: Define Data Requirements
Identify the specific data you need to export from ActiveCampaign. This can include contacts, deals, campaigns, etc. Consult the ActiveCampaign API documentation to understand the available endpoints and the structure of the data you wish to extract.
Step 3: Extract Data Using API Calls
Use a programming language such as Python to send HTTP GET requests to the ActiveCampaign API endpoints. Use libraries like `requests` to facilitate these API calls. For example, to extract contact data, you might call the endpoint: `https://youraccount.api-us1.com/api/3/contacts`.
Step 4: Transform Data to Match PostgreSQL Schema
Once the data is extracted, transform it into a format compatible with your PostgreSQL database schema. You might need to parse JSON responses and map fields accordingly. Use Python tools like `pandas` to manipulate data, if necessary, ensuring data types align with your PostgreSQL tables.
Step 5: Connect to PostgreSQL Database
Establish a connection to your PostgreSQL database using a library such as `psycopg2` in Python. Ensure you have the necessary credentials like database name, user, password, host, and port.
Step 6: Load Data into PostgreSQL
With the connection established, insert the transformed data into your PostgreSQL tables. Use SQL INSERT commands to populate your tables, ensuring you handle potential duplicates or conflicts by using appropriate strategies like `ON CONFLICT` clauses.
Step 7: Automate and Schedule Data Transfer
To maintain up-to-date data in PostgreSQL, automate this process using a task scheduler like cron (for Unix-based systems) or Task Scheduler (for Windows). Write a script that incorporates all previous steps and schedule it to run at regular intervals, ensuring continuous data synchronization.
By following these steps, you'll be able to move data from ActiveCampaign to PostgreSQL without relying on third-party connectors or integrations.
