"With Airbyte, we could just push a few buttons, allow API access, and bring all the data into Google BigQuery. By blending all the different marketing data sources, we can gain valuable insights."
How to Sync to Manually
Step 1: Extract Data from Adjust
Begin by exporting your data from Adjust. You can achieve this by using Adjust's Data Export API. Set up API requests to fetch the data you need. Ensure you define the necessary parameters such as date range, event types, and any other filters relevant to your data needs. Save the data in a format suitable for processing, like CSV or JSON.
Step 2: Store Extracted Data Locally
Once you have extracted your data via the API, store it locally on your system. This can be done by writing the data to files in your preferred format (e.g., CSV, JSON). Ensure that your local storage has enough capacity to handle the data volume you're exporting from Adjust.
Step 3: Prepare Data for Transformation
Before loading your data to Firebolt, it may require cleaning or transformation. Use a scripting language like Python or a tool like Pandas for processing. Check for consistency in data types, handle missing values, and ensure that the data structure aligns with Firebolt's table schema requirements.
Step 4: Transform and Format Data
Transform your data to match the schema of your destination tables in Firebolt. This might include changing data types, renaming columns, or aggregating data. Ensure that your data is in a tabular format like CSV or Parquet, as these are commonly used for uploading into databases.
Step 5: Set Up a Firebolt Database
If you haven't already, set up a new database in Firebolt. This involves defining your database schema, including creating tables that match the structure of your transformed data. Use Firebolt's management console or SQL interface to define and create tables.
Step 6: Load Data into Firebolt
With your data properly formatted and your Firebolt database set up, proceed to load the data. Use Firebolt's COPY command to efficiently upload your files. This requires setting up a stage in Firebolt and pointing to the location of your local files. Ensure your data files are accessible by Firebolt, possibly by using a cloud storage service like AWS S3 if direct local file access is not feasible.
Step 7: Verify and Validate Data Integrity
After loading, perform a thorough verification process to ensure the data integrity and accuracy in Firebolt. Run queries to check for consistency in record counts, data types, and ensure that the data is complete. This step is crucial to confirm that the data transfer from Adjust to Firebolt was successful and that the data can be reliably used for analysis or reporting.
By following these steps, you can efficiently move your data from Adjust to Firebolt without relying on any third-party connectors or integrations.
